people love dragging up stuff on here, but i have not seen or heard
anything about the azure blue RS TURBO used on CATS EYES
can't find a pic,anyone else remember it.
probably going to upset a few people but the azure blue ones
was the best colour on a mk3 or 4 escort imo.
got the fast ford mag with DOUG STIRLINGS azure blue Gartrac
and it made me get a azure blue mk4 cab, that car caused loads of
interest and had over 100 phone calls when i sold it

 

IIRC the Mk3 used in Cats Eyes was Caspian Blue

You sure??? You are the ONLY person I have EVER seen reffer to it as AZURE blue and not Caspian.

Infact the only picture I have ever seen of said car appeared to be very much Caspian blueand no where near the colour of the Gartrac escort.

at the time of me owning caspian blue xr3i's that shade was
nothing like azure blue.
have had a mattise blue xr3 which used to confuse people who thought
it was caspian,it was close but i stand by what i said the CATS EYES
one was AZURE, the same as what FORD threw over loads of
cabriolets

mate i once had a paint repair on said matisse blue xr3 and told
the lad painting it, ITS MATISSE FFS. he sprayed it caspian as he thought
he knew best, and it was f@#ing wrong.
i remember the azure blue ones because at the time LESELIE ASH
was driving one on the telly, and nearly every f##ker else was in a white
one, exept the lovely Princess Di who had a black one, and i also
saw a few red ones.

Might have been because my nan had a mk3 cab with cloverleafs in that mettalic blue (whichever colour it is) at the same time.

 

is the sierra xr4x4 tasman blue??, i have had a few xr2's circa 88-89 that shade

tell you what, they may of had 2 of them as in the tv series
THE PROFESSIONALS the curly haired mush Martin Shaw drove
a RS2000 and occasionally you saw it with a glass sunroof,and in other
shots no sunroof. not a lot of people no that

you spotted it too but iirc in the same episode i saw one shot
with a S/R and another it was gone, anyway i liked the playboy bunny
decal on the boot,nearly as much as leslie ash.
