RARE!!!!!! Well i was in banbury at some traffic lights in the SERIES 2 and guess what pulled up next to me.Not 1 P1 but 6.All in a line.Banbury is the home of PRODRIVE and these were technicians or something taking them out for a test.Needless to say i didn,t wheel spin offf from the lights.........but they all did.Was an impressive sight.

A so called BTCC driver (Paul Oniell) had a 22b until I sat up his arse on a tight local country lane in a 170bhp MK1 Escort !

 

I'd have a P1 anyday it's all the shit that get's imported that

22Bs are quite a bit wider. Guy at work has one, only brings it in in the summer, fookin bufty seriously nice car

ahhhhh, i think someone i know had one of them, i know it was a 2 door in blue and it was a p1 and that shape, don't think it had a wide arch kit on though, did they do a normal p1 in blue?

 

P1 stands for Prodrive....a UK company

 

Just been looking at the specs of the 22B and WOW!! Slightly more powerful (290bhp) than the latest UK STi (remember they are now 2.5L) and are 2.2L rather than 2.0L. The P1 is less powerful (280bhp) but has a faster 0 to 60 time.

No. There were a limited amount of UK versions

 

The P1 was available in late 1999, limited to a production run of 1000. Other than the ultra rare 22B, the P1 is the only official 2-door coupe sold in the UK.
Only available in Sonic Blue, the P1 has a front splitter and rear spoiler designed by Peter Stevens, amd is fitted with smaller recessed driving lamps in place of the normal Impreza fog lights.

1998 saw the release of what many consider to be the ultimate Impreza - the 22B. Named after it 2.2ltr Boxer engine, 22B also translates to 555 in hex, Subaru's main sponsor in its rally program at that time. Lucky coincidence? The 22B has wider arches front and rear, along with a restyled front and rear bumpers to fit, and an adjustable rear wing. Mechanically, apart from the bigger displacement engine, it depends on whether you are looking at a 'type UK' model or an import, as there are differences in spec. The UK model (of which only 16 were produced) has revised gearing better suited to UK roads. In total only 400 22B's were produced, to celebrate Subaru's 40th anniversary.

p1 also has slightly wider wings and rear quarters form normal wrx but not as wide as 22b

also different rear spoiler and had a front splitter on it aswell

also foglight covers as standard

p1 will have like a titanium colour badge on both front wings and boot i think aswell

i think they came with ap brakes aswell but no to sure
