How long do they usually take? Had a smack in my focus at the beginning of the month, just spoke to the insurance now and they've told me its a total loss cat d.
They've valued it at 7k too, but I have an agreed value of 12k where do I stand on that? any ideas?
Soon as I get my cheque I can go boldly into the paranoid world of Cosworth ownership!!

You need to address the situation of the value with the insurance company or your broker, the engineer who valued your car won't be aware of the agreed valuation you have in place.
A payout all depends on the circumstances mate, the Third Party Insurers dragging their heels usually hinders claims a great deal.
How long is a peice of string i'm afraid mate, I settled my own claim in 3 weeks from having the accident to having a cheque in my hand, but then I have known them to take 2 years plus!
HTH

The girl who hit me is with Liverpool Vic and i'm through Demon Tweeks insurance (underwritten by chaucer)
I've got a hire car but I hate it! The best thing about it is the flip out key! (56 plate Golf 1.9Tdi)

All down to the personal situation some can take as little as 2 weeks some alot more. Mine took 2 and a half years but then the guy that hit me had no insurance
so i had to go through the M.I.B
