Do New LCD monitors come with all the leads i need????
my mates got a 19" lcd monitor he is trying to sell me . but today he said i would need to get a lead to link it to the pc ??? i said my old monitor just had a moulded lead on it which plugged in to the pc. he says he is keeping the one he bought to use with it cos it was £30 and he will use it on his new screen???
he reckons no new monitors come with the aerial leads to connect to your pc cos there are different connections??
is this true or is he trying it on????

Possibly woodz, my graphics card was £500 and i had to buy an adaptor to make my PC lead fit.
Either way he should have an old lead kicking about OR tell him to knock off £10 so you can buy one from a backstreet PC shop.

Included accessories Power Cable, D-Sub Cable, audio cable, user manual
the only variable is whether your graphics card has a DVI connector, older style VGA D-sub connector or both?
The monitor has both DVI and D-sub, so you just need the cable to match your graphics card. If you have both on the graphics card, then choose DVI.
Not worth arguing about a monitor cable IMO, they are so cheap it will cost you more in bus fares to go and get one

As said, most PC monitors will have either 15 pin d-sub (VGA) or DVI, or both on them. 15 pin D-Sub (VGA) is the blue ended one and DVI is the white ended one;

From memory, the Iyama monitor has both, but it depends on what your PC has. Have a look, and if you have a white connector that looks like the one in the pic, then get yourself a female to female DVI lead. If you don't have that, you will have the blue VGA connector, so get yourself a female to female VGA lead.
Most, if not all, monitors will come with the basic VGA cable, many will come with a DVI cable aswell. Your old monitor is like my old one - has the cable built into the monitor so it just needs attaching to the PC.
If your mate bought himself a £30 lead, then he should still have the standard one it came with.
However, if it came from a "mate" (
) then he might only have the screen and thats it
Either way, you can get a cable from virtually any PC shop, or the likes of Curry's, Dixons, PC World etc for a few quid - no need to spend £30 IMO.... Less than a tenner will be fine
