Default Smoking FRS

Hi guy,

I've got a problem with my FRS and i was hoping that someone on here would be able to shed some light on it.

Right i took my FRS into Ford for it's 62500K service last week, which all went well, apart from the usual brake pads needing changed! On my way home from the garage i noticed alot of thick white smoke coming from the rear. The car all seems to be running fine, if anything it might be a little down on power but that could be in my head. The smoke only seems to appear at low revs and on pull away. I am planning on taking it back to ford but thought i'd try to get a little ammo before i do.

Thanks in advance

Warren

Do you know if they used the correct oil, if the oil is too thin it will be seepuing past the oil seals in the turbo which can cause problems like that. Mines done 100k now and all is fine.

I've had it all check over now and it is the turbo that's blown I think i know when it went as well. I was pushing my FRS quite hard up a slip road onto a duel carriage way and it started to jerk and pull back a bit then shortly after that i noticed the smoke

oh well, looking on the bright side i'm gonna use this as an excuse to upgrade

Not really to sure yet. If i go the t28 way then that carries a lot of other mods with it' quite alot of dosh! I might just get the t25 off and then send it off to be sorted out with the 360 bearing. Not sure yet, a bit of advice fro soeone who's done it would be good

I've done it and it is a really good set up. I would suggest spending extra on propper custom map with dreamscience after your turbo upgrade.

That's a nice little spec sheet you got there

I've already got Turbo Technics GT25/28? Superchips Bluefin, GGR K&N air filter induction kit. And i'm gonna add Turbo Technics GT25/28? Primary Designs manifold, sports cat and a Radtec Chargecooler.

That should be enough to keep me happy
