The RST supplement of the Ford's workshop manual covers it pretty well. Have a look there.

As a general rule, i personally, would:

1. Fit it.......
2. Before you adjust anything see if the car starts.........
3. IF it does....
4. Get it (as a BARE MINIMUM) on a CO analyser ASAP and DON'T boost it up
5. If it doesn't........check for fuel at the injectors with the pump running, and if it does that try adjusting the mixture screw fractionally until you can get it to start and then go to 4.

Not that im aware of myself. Just try and see if it starts mate. When i first did the cabby i had a fucked metering head that was overfuelling a cylinder and that started pretty much first time, it backfired like a slag aswell

Are you reallly sure you looked in the S1/S2 workshop manual. There's dozens of pages of how to set up the metering unit including the base levels.

to cut a long story short its not faulty as such, more damaged i spose- the fuel/air mixture screw(allen key) no longer works
the car runs fine at low boost(maybe a little bit lean) but i wanna up the psi a bit so i need to alter the fueling in order to not lean out etc
hence the replacement

I did think that but its had a replacement engine and a few fueling problems since i bought it to do with blockages so that little screw has been working overtime this year- shame on me for not replacing it sooner

Had a look myself, and indeed the S2 manual has nothing very interesting, but have a look in the S1 manual instead.

i was sweating it a bit as it took the metering head a while to flow properly and adjusting it to start was a nightmare
now running a solid 10psi and a big smile on me face
