Im looking to remove the T5 box from a mates car, whenever Ive had the box off of my cossie the engine has always been out, any tips or suggestions to make this job easier? The whole underside will be stripped eventually, bean, diff, prop etc etc
So whats easiest? Ta

Nothing really to say, dead easy. Undo the battery, starter, drop the front arb, undo the prop, remove the gearstick, remove speedo drive, unclip clutch cable..disconnect reverse lamp switch...undo bell housing bolts...undo rear mounting and remove. Engine will stay balanced perfectly with box removed so no need to support it.

oh forgot to add, some exhaust systems inc original system will require removal. My Mongoose system clears ok if you draw the box back to a angle. Top bell housing bolts can some times be awkwark due to tightness of access and tightness of bolt.
As above, I've taken mine out so many times now I can get it out in a couple of hours. Can be a bit of a pin getting it back in as trying to get the splines to line up can be a tad difficult ( I leave the box in gear so I can get the prop on to turn it.
If you are just taking the box out, you can leave the bell housing on. Undo the 4 bolts holding the prop up & the bolts holding it to the bell housing.
Dont forget to take the centre console out aswell were the electric window switches are.
