Default trickle chargers

does anyone use these?

im thinking of getting one but unsure wether to leave it on all the time in case of fire or anything like that?

am i better off just buying a jump starter?

Use one on mine ,once it gets to the charge level it shuts off and starts up when the battery level drops again

I use a 4 Amp charger . Have it on a timer. 6 hours a day

Get an optimate, they can be left on for up to 2 years and have all the safety stuff built in.

IF the car lives outside you want to be getting a solar panel one

If not as said, you want to spend a few pennies and get a good one with peak detection, otherwise you won't be doing the battery any good.

I got mine from an old Ford garage in horncastle for aroud Ł15. It looks like a mobile phone charger, but has croc clips on the end. Built in shut-off as standard and I leave mine fitted most of the time. Well worth it & doesn't knacker your battery like continous discharging & jump starting can.

Take a look at machine marts AC70 Ł30 for an 'intelligent' charger ie once fully charged it automatically switches to trickle
