Default Trickle charger question

when useing a trickle charger do you need to undo all the screw caps on the battery?

shouldn't need to, even with a normal charger if the battery vents are working

I don't on mine. It's one of the phone-charger style ones, specifically for this purpose (as well as caravans & other motor vehicles which have alarms fitted).
