Default Escort cossie trickle chargers

Who uses a trickle charger on their escort cossie?

Have been using a draper battery master one on mine but it keeps stopping working , the battery is a 590 amp lead acis type, is this charger compatible with that type of battery??

Been through 3 chargers and 1 battery and now have a brand new one of each and dont want to ruin either again

any suggestions as to what could be causing it to stop working??

i've used on on my car for 2 winters now and have had no problems. not really sure what ya problem is. soz mate.

on the guessing side of things, batteries can only take so much charge. so the knackered battery was topped up beyond is recommended charge as the chargers don't switch off when the battery is charged. as for the 3 chargers, they are not the most robust things. i have noticed that when the battery is full they do get very hot. maybe you've just burnt them out. have you spoken to draper direct. I'm sure they'll have a techie who can answer your questions.

regards

dave

I would just take the battery off the car. I mean I think cars are meant to be driven and if you're gonna hibernate it, then just remove the battery.

optimates are very good. Using them on both the cossie and the bike with no problems or new batteries
