Default What benefit upgrading from 4x4 to RS500 i/cooler ?

Is it worth me changing to a Radtec RS500 i/cooler, at present running 803's, 3 bar , 4x4 i/cooler,standard T3 turbo 18-2opsi (288bhp on rollers at flywheel). I will be changing the turbo for a T34 at some point, but would I get any benefit from using a 500 sized i/cooler at the mo rather than the 4x4i/cooler considering i'm only running about 20psi, do you think I would notice any difference in power ?

Cheers Simon.

Yes! imo.

I roughly have the same spec, changed to a pace rs500 i.c, and i could the difference.

You could then turn the boost up more!

remember the 500 cooler blocks the radiator so your cooling system will need to be up to scratch!

Thanks for the replies, Iv'e ordered a radtec 500 i/cooler, a friend of mine has now told me he had a lot of trouble fitting his radtec one to his 4x4 saph,he had to drill new mounting holes as he just couldn't get the rad to fit properly after cooler fitted. Do you know if a radtec one fits ok on a3dr with the standard rad. Re cooling system all Iv'e done is had the standard rad recored as it was weeping, the car has never overheated even in traffic jams such as ford fair sitting in traffic for 2hrs,fans all work correctly. Thanks for any info, much appreciated.

Cheers Simon.

Don't know about the radtech ones, but the saff have holes already there so they bolt straight on!!

Good luck fitting!

This is very interesting. I thought a Stg 1 Cos gets btwn 250-280hp. I'll be getting a 4x4 IC soon and I was contemplating a Stg 2 upgrade (803s, chip, 3bar, 18-20 psi). After the 4x4 IC i guess i'll get a 3" exhaust system - try to make the most of my Stg 1 setup first.

Might just save up for an another engine before I go for the extra Stg 2 bits, eh? Whatcha guys think?

just go straight for stage 3 and then you only have to spend the money once

Got a stage 2 but should that not be 22 to 25 PSI for a stage 2 I was told by MSD ? And I only get 18 to 20
