I have not yet had any probs with ebay, but I know that it is only a matter of time. So many ppl have problems with them. PayPal seem to be a law unto them selves.
And why should you not add an extra %age if ppl pay by paypal? It costs you money! Some companies add a %age for credit card transactions for them simple reason that it cost them money to receive c.c. payments.

Think we need some competition in the market place. Much as it would be a hassle checking two seperate online auction sites, ebay is getting too big for its boots.

Because ebays rules say that you cannot. I might not agree with the rules, but they are there for everyone and should be adhered to. If you want to cover paypal costs, bump your postage up.

Ebay are w*nkers, they screwed up with charges when I listd a car, so i refused to pay til they sorted the problem. Ended up with charges going from £6 to £146 in few months, still refuse to pay for their fook up. Now in hands of baliffs, every day at 3pm they ring up, could set my watch by them, really am surprised how tolerant they are, every day they get same reply from me, FOOK OFF, its Ebay's screw up, not mine.

Paypal only refund money when you don't reply to the emails they send you

It's your fault, not theirs
