Default headgaskets

whats the going rate to replace one?

ive been looking around and is there much point going for a wrc one over a group A one when running on stage 3?

how much is a good price for both of the above to retail at?

and apart from obviously the bolts and headgasket is it worth replacing the reast of the gaskets at the same time?

@ righthooker

right, woodford has reasonable prices. At European Ford Event I bought an 3 bar map, Weber Marelli, new, not used or refurbished for 90,-- €, that's 60,-- GBP. If this is not reasonable, what's than?

My Group 'A' headgasket lasted 10k miles on a stage 3 conversion. 1.7 bar of boost. I know of a genuine MAD built 400bhp cossie that never had a group a headgasket fail. Choice is yours as to weather you use a group a or a multi-layer metal one, but for the sake of Ł60 get a multi-layer one. Cometic will do fine, you dont have to buy the proper wrc one

Cometic headgaskets arent great IMO, for stage 3 go with group A head

set with a wire rung block not easy with the bottom end in the car but

can be done, mine cost Ł80 to wire ring it and was done by Andy Fisher.

If you wanted a multi layered item go for the WRC one its a fit and forget

job but costs around Ł350 just for the gasket

ok, you talked about h/g; my post with the map was for example, in Germany you can get an 4 - layer WRC for 132,-- GBP from SUHE - Motorsport, genuine one, no fake.
You lived in "Deutschland" for 10 years, so you know the difference between Germany and the UK getting part's for the FORD's.
