Have you done anything to it to make it start doing this or did it start on its own?

Its an air leak of some sort, or the idle speed control valve is jammed wide open.
Check:
1. That all the inlet vacuum hoses are connected correctly and not split. One of these goes to the MAP sensor and another to the fuel pressure regulator. Also check the breather pipes that come out from the fuel rail.
2. That the throttle butterfly is fully closed when the accelrator is released.
3. That there are no air leaks from the inlet manifold gasket, the plenum gasket and the throttle bosy gasket.
4. Disconnect the plug from the idle speed control valve and see if the engine dies. If it does it could be an electrical fault.
5. Disconnect the hose that goes into the idle speed valve from the air box (or from the plastic ducting that sits on the rocker cover) and block it. If the engine won't run with this hose blocked then the valve is stuck. If it does clonk out then you definately have an air leak.

One of these things will be letting in excess air. Someone else on here is having a very similar problem with the same engine at the moment.
