Trying to talk my wife into getting a fast fiesta, but she wont get rid of her Focus for anything without air con

air con is sooooooo expensive!
my mate asked his local ford if they could add it in....said about £600 just for the bits then another £200 to fit it all!

How much should we expect to pay for a mint XR2i or FRST then? seen loads around the £600 mark but need work doing - happy to pay more for something thats mint tbh.
