Audi S3
dunno, a mate of mine had one a couple of years back, and as much as he loved the car it spent as much time in the audi dealership getting repaired as it did on his drive
the problems he had that I can remember were the clutch release bearing dying, car only had 50k on it when he got rid and he drives like a old woman
, and something to do with the boost solenoid, or something similar. There were a couple of other problems he had too. To be honest I think he got a bit of a lemon with that car, all the problems ber the boost solenoid were just unlucky, the boost problem though was apparently a well known problem.
On the up side, when he was driving it, and occasionally giving it some beans, it was a very good car. Not as quick as I was expecting, but it’s a heavy car for its size, super comfy when its motoring

very good car as i work for an audi dealership i have worked on a few.
personally i would go for the face lift model the 225bhp and a better interior with xenon lights + the older ones where 210bhp. but do be carefull there are a lot of dogs out there and every 40,000mls its full service time which includes haldex oil and filter brake fluid change + the usaual plugs, air filter ect. you may fine brakes will need changing.
Also look out for front anti roll bars as the collers split on the bar an wear the bushes very common problem which is subframe off to change it.
loverly cars but if not looked after and maintained correctly wil cost you big money

Fuck me you dont see many of the normal quattro's never mind a beast like that, most people with the older stuff Audi 100's, 80's ect wont pay the labour rate so you dont see alot of the originals
i know but this guy is fucking loaded hes having a new gearbox put in it because the gearstick is a little sloppy.thats £2k + hes spent about £25k on it according to the boys in work.hes got an RS6 which hes just part x in for a brand new RS4 avant which is currently on order.but this quattro is something else u have to see it to believe it

Oh
Anyway, I like em - have driven a few (from the earlier 1.8 turbo models to the new n/a 3.2 litre models) both of which I thought were great cars.
Personally tho, I think they are too small, for me at least.
I love Audi's tho, and have driven a fair few of them in different shapes and models, and have never really had a "bad" drive in one (cept the older horrible Audi 80's and 100's, bleaugh!
)
But recently I had an A4 (on an 04 plate) with the 1.8 turbo lump in it, and I think it was only FWD. But damn, it was quick! Felt very strong through the gears and pulled nicely - turbo coming in low down and pulling all the way through... Slap a decent zorst and filter on that and have it remapped and you have a damn fine car there for not a huge ammount of money..... Shame it only has FWD tho (I think, I don't remember seeing any Quattro badges, only the S-Line badges)

What car have you got?
At some point tho, when I have my house and am comfortable enough, I do fancy something German, most likely an Audi of some descript : like an S4 or RS4 or something, but then, I'd probably be fairly happy with something like the A4 1.8T

Or maybe go proper chav and get an £46 330Ci

Had a few problems with the oil sensor but thats been it (hopefully) . Really nice cars comfortable cars, totally different to your "normal" A3's. Currently got circa 210bhp (standard) but really tuneable with a chip taking it up to 255bhp for only £500.

Had one for @ 60k miles - they are ok if you drive them 7/10ths but they can get lairy if you push them to the limit.
Top speed @ indicated 161mph but I had long running suspension and engine management issues that the local dealer was absolute cack in sorting out.
TBH, for the cash I'd look elsewhere - like a clio trophy but I suppose its down to what u want.
