Who needs to work for Fords to get discount on bits

ford parts are on a % ie filters and service parts some get 50% off
but other part may only get u 10% off no matter who u are or work for
some parts come very cheap ie i can get a brand 2 mrk1 type focuz shell for Ł850 complete with delivery

fitlers Ł2 each if i buy 10 off stuff like that

 

is that complete as in all doors on it aswell?

in primer?

 

i direct relly, so someone with the same name has to work there or have been retired from there, my dad has been in ford for 28 years, i use his employee number and i get the discount.....on fast moving service parts the discount is good...up to 50% but on other slower parts its 15% i belive...

 

fukin hell....ill have one....i take it there is fook all on the thing

 

So can i use my Uncle as a discounter

 

in primer no doors or tailgate n bonnet

 

tiff inlaws, imitiate family, uncle but not cousins for some reason


as for discount its aas brom says, varied on parts, fast general service is 50 to 60% body panels is 30% and other crap shite is usually 15%


be warned thought that you must state if its not a stock item that they get it to stock order it, its a 7 day order and not VOR it in as then your discount suffers as most items suffer a extra cost on em if over night delivery

oh also nephews qualify too on privledge too i beive, just not cousins though


so sister-inlaw, nephew, neices ect can get it but not a cousin


sounds odd but the good news is most of you northern lot seem to have got round that by marrying your cousins,,,,,, now everyone is either a uncle,nephew or inlaw of some discription,,,, some cases you fit in all classes


shame us southerners dont think like that to save 20 quid on filters ect

My old man used to work for Fords ages ago and doesnt have his discount card anymore. He thinks he is not entitled to it but I have heard from a few different sources that ex Ford employees are still eligible. Can someone confirm this?

 

I work for Landrover which is part of ford so i am entitled to the discount, any employee can get discount on parts for anyone but a lot of dealers will ask to see the logbook for the car with the employees name on so it doesnt get abused..... Tiff... the dealer in leamington are good and not strict about this. Let me know if you need some help in getting the bit. Steve

 

I left a FoMoCo subsidiary 4 years ago, and you only keep the discount if you retire. Leavers and redundant employees lose it the day they finish.

The strict rule is that you could only use the discount for parts to use on a Ford car bought on Privilege, but my local dealer allowed me to use it on bits for my Sierra.

Can't remember if family got the discount on parts or if that was only for employees. They could certainly use the discount on cars but employees could only put three through in a 12 month period and the cars couldn't be sold in the first 9 months. I've just bought my Vectra from Vauxhall and they won't allow me to sell it for 12 months.

 

my mate gives me plenty of discount at my local Ford parts dept

 

gine btw ur new driver gets here about 130 not like when u drive u get here for 11 one of are drivers walk out we are so short staff at the mo lots of jobs going here

Dealer staff don't qualify for Privilege, only employees of FoMoCo and specified subsidiaries.

 

i work for an indepentant company that supplies genuine Ford parts, i tend to pay dealer nett or less

 

very true, fomoco also get 20% off new jags too and we dont at ford


and alex i dont know why i was so quick, guess i was lucky with traffic


we have 2 staff quit this week too, if you need a job

 

i get cost on all my parts,,, thats less than any other ford parts uk ltd place as we are ment to get cost plus 10%

 

Nowadays I get a discount, I guess they have realized im a good customer since ive had the car for 14 years. They even started to recommend other cosworth owners to source parts from me directly.

Dont get a get a huge discount its quite nice to even get one after all these years of paying the full price.
