Default Remember My ISCV Problem............. **UPDATE**

I got one from the breakers today. The one that screws on to the bulk head.

Now i have another problem. When it's warm it idles fine but when it's cold it wont idle for shit .

I fitted it, pipes are ok and i drilled the whole in the intake on the throttle body like i was told i had to do ( used a size 3 drill bit).

Have i missed anything out? Anything else i should have done?

Feel like scrapping it to be honest

Sounds like you had the Webber valve. To be honest you are best off finding a Hitachi valved car in the breakers and pinching the bits off that (including ECU) and then drill a 2mm hole in the bottom half of the throttle butterfly

Phil which valve did you get as Oranoco said?

They was an early 2i down the local scrappy and i was marvelling at it thinking i would get you the ISCV, thing was stripped

EVERYTHING electrical was gone, not a single sensor left

I got the hitachi style ISCV now. That's why i got it.

Drilled a 3mm hole in the bottom half of the butterfly but I didn't replace the ECU.

I knew i should've robbed the ECU while i was there.

Oh well, at least i have the Hitachi ISCV now anyway so i'm half way there

Well......the code on the ECU's that run Hitachi ISCV's is 1AFA, i'm not too sure whether yours will be or not.

It will be a 4 digit code like that though, its worth checking, that will rule more possibility out

Have you checked the electrical conections? Ford wiring is cheap and nasty, check you are getting the 5v feed and there is an unbrocken return/signal wire to the ECU.

The old idle valve works fine when conncted. Like safechav says, i think it's coz i need an updated ECU

Ok, the correct ECU is fitted now. Runs a lot smoother while driving now.

Only issue is that it's hunting now and the idle speed is slightly high, i think it's coz i drilled a 3mm hole instead of a 2mm hole in the butterfly so i think it's getting too much air.

Is there a mixture screw or an idle screw anywhere that i can adjust that may correct this?

And to top it all off, it still doesn't idle when it's cold

The idle speed is determined by the ECU and as such can't really be adjusted.

IIRC you should remove the ISCV plug, and set the idle to 600RPM by means of the screw on the throttle body, then re-connect.

If you still have idle problems you may well have an air leak or a failed sensor or something like that

What about the hole i drilled being 1mm too big? Could that cause it?

Hmmmm......maybe, but either way it shouldn't be stalling, that hole if anything is only ever going to make it tick over fast but the difference is minute and i would expect the management to be able to comoensate for it anyway.

I think something else is at fault, like an air leak or a sensor as i said.

It idles fast when warm, it's only when first started from cold it starts stalling. Maybe i should try cleaning the new ISCV up to make sure it's working correctly. All vacuum pipes appear ok

The ISCV's are common to getting mucky and sticking.

It may not necessarily be a pipe, could be a leaky inlet gasket or something.

Either way i'll put money its a simple fault, its just tracking it. If you think it may be the hole put some tape over it and try again to see what it runs like, i bet theres not much difference
