Default Is it worth it??

My FRS is comin up due for its 3rd service.

Part of me says have it done at Frauds this time as then its first three, but rest of me says get it to NMS, cos to most RS owners that name means a lot more than GK ford stamp in the book!!!

Im a little confused, my only real concerns are about the paint, A/C warrenty etc but im not sure there worth the paper the booklets printed on

OPINIONS PLEASE

Steve

i'd say stick with main dealer till the warranty ends,if it hasn't already...then take to a specialist

Personally i would use ford for this type of car where a ford stamp will mean more to the general public.

There's no doubt Karl would do a better job but i bet the Ford stamp is worth more to people who are not "in the know"

Ref the warrenty....

You can now have your car serviced at a non main dealer as long as they service the car with the correct parts and the correct scheduel (spl)... rules changed on this a couple of years ago to stop dealers having a monoploy on new cars

yeah you can have your car serviced at ANY garage aslong as you use genuine ford parts,,,,,,,, and tbh you can also get away with using NON genuine ford parts IF there to the same standard, but that just makes it harder to prove

BUT most ford dealers service departments are on there knees at the momement and you will prob find you can get fixed price servicing done for a good deal ( my place offered my missus uncle to service his modeo for 70 quid including parts on a just a lube service

BUT a 3 year service will require air, oil filter, pollen filter, fuel filter, plugs, oil

see what they charge and workmit out against the resale value....... sorry but nms aint gonna mean as much to most people who buy these cars,, not everyone knows who karl is belive it or not

but as far as warranty goes, just as steve says and he knows this as its in his interest to know this stuff, where as its in my interest to keep this info from you all

Totally agree, Full Ford service history is more likely to mean more to the average Joe than part Ford Part Tuner.
