Default Changed stem seals still smoking like mad....

I have just changed my oil stem valve seals in a hope it would stop my escort cossie replica with a fiesta turbo engine in from smoking... No luck.... Well ive only drove it 2 or 3 miles and its still smoking. Do you think I would need to drive it further to burn the excess oil off? Or like me do you think its still leaking oil??? I did a compression test and it was 150-160 on all cylinders is this correct? Checked the turbo pipes for excess oil and they seem ok>>> Any more ideas? I have a spare head im currently refurbin do you think it would be worth swoppin this completely? Once again thanks for any input....

What turbo is on it - T2 or T3??

I've had the same problem as this in the past checked everything and it ended up being turbo yet no oil in pipes and no play at all in the turine, shit seals.

Try the breater pot, if its O.E pot then check its breathing properly take all pipes to the sump etc...inspect and try new pot - BAILEY best with a escort rs turbo pot they are bigger than fiesta ones.

piston rings seem okay its producing them figures

if it was just the stem seals causing smoking then it shud take minutes to clear

oil in exhaust from blown turbo could take ages, ive replaced exhausts at work because of blown turbo's before as it took ages to burn

could also be the piston rings matey

Had this problem with mine would'nt burn the oil out of the turbo so i stripped it all down again, there was no oil in the exhaust so decided to rebuild the car the next day. When i went to it there was a big pool of oil that came out of the turbo overnight, when rebuilt it never smoked again. so try turning the turbo upside down and leaving it overnight to drain out!!

There is a common fault on the FRST's that run a T2 - its the oil return pipe. They are very thin and long and are known for bad drainage, Ford i'm led to believe brought out a modified pipe but they are like rocking horse poo to find now.

This may be your problem so bare it in mind

more like the oil return is level, as in its at the same angle from the bottom of the turbo as it is in the block. thats why it doesnt drain properly

yep thats your problem mate shit design on the return pipe rather than going directly into the sump it takes a detour over the exhaust causing the oil to build up when engine is swithed off flood the turbo and chuck out blue smoke when you start the engine.
