I'm sure this has probably been posted a thousand times......

BUT

What do people think of the PSP? a good bit of kit or is it cack? Basically I have the change to buy one that hasn't been used, with a 1GB card (full of porn ) for £100

I commute for 2 hours each day and haev a holiday to Mexico coming up, and at 6ft 3 the flight might be a struggle without something to do or some diazapam!

Any opinions from oners etc would be great

Also any good games let me know

i had one before my 360, and i thougth they were a nice little bit of kit, not just for the games, but for video's, movies, pictures, im gona get another one when the prices drop a bit.

 

you wont get a better hand held console

find out what firmware it is.. 1.5 or below can run games off memory stick which you can download for nothing

So any firmware over 1.5 doesn't allow you to play games from mem card?

its got a 1GB card which would be cool for downloading games onto, and I have found a snes emulator so I can play mariokart!

 

I got PSP last year and I've used it like 10 times or something. Although Ive only got one game and only bought it for one game. I'd say for £100 probably worth it, especially if you have lots of travelling to do.

One word of warning though, if you play in the dark for an hour, you end up with a strange dark rectangle imprinted on your vision for a couple or hours!

 

the 1.5 firmware psp can play iso games from the memory stick

they tend to go for 175+ on ebay, ive sold 2 recently with 2gb cards for 210 each + postage

previously you could only downgrade firmware version 1.51 1.52 (upgrade to 2.00 first) 2.00 to the 1.5 using the mph downgrader, which is simple enough

but they have recently brought out the downgrader for the 2.5 and 2.6 versions (most are 1 of these) but its slightly more ticky to do, and i havnt dared do one yet . where as ive done 4 or 5 downgrades from 2.0 to 1.5

imo yes they are worth it for what you need, commuting. where as i dont commute, and i dont really play it much anymore so im swapping it for a 360

Bought one and took it to Italy with me last year. Used it once on the plane out and never touched it again, bought two books and enjoyed myself a whole lot more. Nice to look at, but the games are just mini Playstation ones and surfing the net without a proper keyboard is a fad at best.

If you can get it for a ton, then buy it and flog it on on Ebay.

i bought one for my plane trip to lanzarote in janurary....

and have never ever used it since....fook,..that wasnt the plan,....

but imo take the piss out of nintendo ds, etc etc...

 

I love mine, Tiger Woods 2006 is the nuts!!!!!

A must if on a long plane journey imo.

get it mate .. worth it to put video on the card if you have a nice long plane flight would look at getting a spare battery tho if you are going to use it continually ..

good mp3/video player aswell as a handheld games console ..

should I be pu toff my no instructions a foreign charger and a couple of small scratches on screen for that price?

Its version 2.0 firmware so can I downgrade easily?

 

you can download the intructions from the offical playstation site so thats no bother, Takes 5 mins to take it back to 1.5 , look at the above link that i posted earlier , theres loads of info on how to do easily

I got one for xmas. i've only ever played GTA on it but its the bollox

I dunno if I've got a dud screen though (it does have 4 - 5 dead pixels) but I think the video playback is awful. the delay is terrible which gives you that ghost effect when things move about.

 

it is 2.01, is that different?

I have one and its awesome (IMO). My breaks at work are far to short ! I have had Football Manager in it since beginning of May and have played it for about 3 hours a day and just cant put it down !

Everybodys Golf again IMO) is loads better than Tiger Woods, yeah a bit cartoony but the game play is far more addictive.

ISS Pro (footy) again is awesome, have played against a mate and have finished with sever cramp in me thumbs !

Go and get one you wont be dissapointed, only downer is that you only commute for 2 hours a day !

now time to downgrade so I can download games and get soem emulators!

 

anyone know where to download a snes emulator and how to install?

also a lot of teh geeky forums are talking about devhook?! should I just stick with v2.01 and not fook about downgrading etc

 

where is the best place to get a new one from please ie, best deal at the moment?? .. commuting on a train is boring
