GARETH T need to get it running and i dnt have 500+ for pistions and 500+ for rods ATM , i will be building a 2.1 ZT next year when i had the money to fund it
Gareth, how many times have you build an engine with a decomp plate?
and how many times has it gone pop??
not may i bet!!
also, just how many people have had probs with de-comp plates??
you always hear of people saying they are shit etc, but thats cos no one has actually done it themselves!
they arent as bad as you think if its done right, and a much cheaper option than going for a low comp bottom end.
not ideal i know, but fair play for trying!

Alright so it buggers up any squish you may of had.
Does this effect your resistance to detonation??? I don't know. I have not noticed any un reasnable results.
Is squish needed at all on the sort of engines we want to build? Not sure.
I have seen some very impressive results using very thick headgaskets.
I have a solution that i use on a zetec engine that is very reliable, but you won't see much change from £100.
For a budget ZT wanting up to 250 bhp, i think they are a viable option.
