Default boost cut

can someone tell me if a standard ecu cuts the boost at 8-10 psi as soon as it sees that pressure or does it cut it after a short delay ?

only reason i ask is because mine hit 18 psi last night and i thought i had a standard ecu in mine

Standard boost cut iirc on a S2 is 12psi. If you hit 18psi there is eitehr a fault or the ECU has been chipped

There's a delay. Ant it can be quite big. Ive hit 22psi on a std ecu before. 10 psi is ur cut roughly.

Somethings up there, if youre getting to round to 18psi without boost cut.

When i turned it up on mine when i first got an RS as soon as it hit 10psi it was back firing from the boost cut.

varies from sensor 2 sensor.

Ecu wants to see the excess boost for 2-3seconds, but how soon your 20year old pressure sensor reports it to teh circuit is another matter.
