Default 4x4 cossie regulator, on zetec turbo ?

hi there,

just a bit of advice please.

i have finished building a 2.1 turbo zetec.

i have got hold of a cosworth 4x4 fuel regulator, however i just want a bit of advice as i dont have the 4x4 fuel rail which it bolts to because was told the 4x4 fuel rail wont fit onto as zetec as its a shorter motor

whats the best way to connect it up as im worried about where the o-ring connects up how i would adapt it,

as the top and bottom pipe ate fine to connect to my zetec fuel lines however im left with the o-ring open.

or couldent i get a pipe and jubalie clip on where the o-ring is and block the bottom pipe off?

I have just finished making one of theses for a friend.

The fitting for the FPR is basically another injector bung with a plate that it bolts to, to hold it in position.

Make sure you check the condition of the o ring on the FPR before you use it. the one on the FPR i bought was shot. Easily replaced with an injector one. A fecked one could end up with your car going up in flames.

I wouldn't recomend using a jubilee clip on the o ring part.

If you really get stuck i could make you a fuel rail, but would need to know
where you want the FPR mounted eg end or top.

Do you mean the bottom pipe on the FPR? Thats the return pipe..... It won't work if you do!

Are you serious??? You really need to sit down and think abour how a fuel pressure reg works. You need all connections!! And to the right place. At best your car will not start, at worst you will set yourself/garage/house on fire!

Im afraid i respectfully advise you to have a professional finish this job pal, your lack of knowledge on this subject is going to put the passengers in this car at risk. 10bar of fuel is not to be bodged with, especially in teh vacinity of a 900C exhaust manifold.

Sorry to be blunt but it needed saying.

Jason, take the advice above!

What inlet manifold are you using?

A lot of ZT guys use a FRST inlet manifold, complete, with the FRST fuel rail and FRST pressure regulator - thats what i'd recommend, if you don't understand the system though, take it to a tuner and get them to finish it off else you really will have a fire

im useing the 1.8 zetec efi inlet,
i do understand the pressure system is just
the engine is finished as built it all myself, just the regulator i need now,
i orded a cosworth one but dident know about the o-ring connection, as my custom fuel rail does not have the o-ring connection to house the regulator.

can i ask whats wrong with that adjustable fuel pressure regulator above? as was told these are good regulators?
