Define your question more clearly please as in all honesty, they dont actually have many common "Faults" at all. It is a VERY fault free car and extremely over engineered.

Most YB Cosworth problems are down to the owners and poor maintainance.

3 years of cossie ownership and no problems whatsoever

if there well looked after maintain regularly you won't have any problem with them at all

like Stu said most cossie problems are down to the owners and poor maintainance

The only common faults I have been told to look out for are loom plugs and connectors and the fuseable links, as they are getting old now. When all my electrics are turned on the fuseable links get hot, have been told to cut them out and replace with fuses, but forgot what rating to use. But as I don't use the car in bad weather then I won't have all electrics on anyhow so should be ok.

RUST if they aint looked after properly!!!
(took me a while to find a good one!)

If 4x4s have standard brakes and aint good quality discs they can warp
fairly easy..

the engines seem Very good,
the gaskets do leak, but once replaced they seem ok!

but as Stu said, looked after they are pretty fault free

had mine a year and half, and the ONLY FAULT that saw it off the road
was when the battery died one day.

fuse box melting for rad fans.

had this happen at the weekend just before going on the 'ring. managed to dig the terminals out of the molten mess and get another fuse in there so that the fans work again, but will have to replace it with a sub loom that i made up from an old abs loom

The cosworth is a great car, well engineered and a record of wins in rallys longer than the 7 bridge, however when it comes down to the owners and the upkeep, now we are talking about problems.............

The most common problem is too much boost and not enough fuel .

Only ever had minor issues, they strong as fuck, just often bodged.

As per stus comment, most are issues to to bad maintainance and setup.

Missfires I used to get a lot.
Melting rad fan wiring in fuse box.
Clutch cable used to snap relativley often, but that was prob my fault

Umm, thats it really.
