The only common faults I have been told to look out for are loom plugs and connectors and the fuseable links, as they are getting old now. When all my electrics are turned on the fuseable links get hot, have been told to cut them out and replace with fuses, but forgot what rating to use. But as I don't use the car in bad weather then I won't have all electrics on anyhow so should be ok.
