My first baby is due this sunday

Now, when it comes to stuff like birth I am fooken terible. I watched the maternity channel last night for appoximately 45 seconds. :vomit2:

G/f is trying to persuade me to come in and cut cords and watch and stuff but after watching it last night....

Anyone here who couldnt watch it either?? or am I the only one..ROFL

I might just go in the room, get on the gas and air, watch the wall, until the baby is out and clean then pay attention

Opinions?????????

 

your DNA is coming out... and you will be reponsible for it the next 18 years at least... you will spend at least 2 porsches on the child in this time..

id be able to watch it on TV, but being there is a different matter deffo couldnt cut the cord

Know what you mean about other kids , but it is different when it's your own, must be instincts etc...

Get stuck in or you will regret it....I nearly passed on the first one when they got the 6 inch needle out for the epidural (spell) but the nurses caught me ok and was fine after that ..

On a serious note make sure you take some food with you...my first one took 26 hours and no food makes ya faint

they reckon that most women also have a shit sometime during the birth, so be prepared for that as well.

I dont like wacthing stuff like that on tv, but was there for Kaceys biirth, although kaz couldnt do a natural childbirth and had to have a emergancy sazerium(spel) I was there for that and cut the cord, also walking back to kaz after cutting the cord, one of the doctors moved and i had a full view of kaz's stomach cut open and peeled back which wasnt pleasent but the sqeamish thing just doesnt affect you when it s people close to you

I am mega squeemish (like the Big Yellow One suggest, I turned away at the nasty epidural needle in back bit) and I positioned myself so that I was unable to see the "gubbins" going on (was worried it would put me off sex for life ).

Despite my fears, Jen would have awarded me a medal if she could, she really appreciated my support and was amazed how I lasted the entire course (not even losing colour ).

Despite this, I still gag when doing a really gooey-pooey nappy - so that shows how bad I am .

Anyway, not to put you off, but you remember that bit out of Jaws where they cut the shark open and all blood and guts rush out? That's the after-birth making it's exit that is . Even the Doctor had to jump out of the way as it splashed onto the floor (I quietly looked at Jen to offer her reassurance at this point - it didn't have anything to do with the thought that I might end up on the floor with what had just came out - honest Guv ).

 

could it be spelt something like ceasarian? originating from the roman emperor Ceasar perhaps?

I was there for the birth of my first born seven weeks ago. I had intended to be old fashioned and stop outside smoking a cigar!, but when the time came I just did not want to miss it.

The missus was on her knees when me son came so I did not see the business end but saw him come squirting out. I cut his cord, felt like really thick bacon rind!

I am not getting all Jerry Springer on your ass, but if you miss it I think you will regret it. Plus, the missus couldn't cope on her own, who would they moan too.

Ps, look away at the afterbirth, you've seen the film Alien!

i thought i was gonna be sqeumish and sick but once they started to come out
all them feeling disapear.

Trust me mate it's a different thing all together when you're actually there, I had the exact same concerns but I was fine...............although I have to say I cringed a bit when the doc was sewing her flaps back up afterwards!!

I could tell a story about someone i know giving birth, but cant in detail due to not knowing who reads this forum

BUT its safe to say id be demanding a sazarian straight away if i was a proper slim bird without a big sloppy bucket, as being torn a hole about 5 times its original size and half your insides falling out is "not my scene"

Only good thing is when you get torn to bits by the baby like the people in Aliens, they might well sew you up tighter than before

 

Do it mate. Its a feckin long haul sometimes but is defo worth the wait. I watched My mrs in labour for 14 hours and I was as knackered as her .lol.

Its not that bad u take no notice of what is actully hapening and concentrate on th enew born

 

Best thing I've ever experienced in my life seeing my 2 kids born but dont pull the red emergency cord in the toilet thinking its the light switch like I did

and my second,was natural.he was a 10 pounder.it hurt her like fuck,good is what i say .its ok watching if you can put up with a moaning woman and the log wait,god its boring,anyone would think it hurts.

used to see up to 4 a day when i working in the maternity unit at my last hospital, they came out the sun roof though, taking into account if it was twins aswell, think id shed a tear if it was my own though.

 

Definately go, could be a once in a life time opportunity, and to give support to your wife/gf who will be going through sooo much pain.

I couldn't cut the cord, because as soon as she was born it was wrapped round her neck

Oh yeah and when the docs stitch her fanny back up, give then a ten pence piece and wink at them nice and tight

Well my mrs was in labour for 29 hours and I was up for 54 hours with no sleep, so deffo take some food with ya

also the best advice I can give you is, when it starts coming out DON'T LOOK it ain't pretty, but once out, and cleaned up it's the best thing ever
