Default black top or silver top zetec

i thaught i@d put this in the rs turbo part of the forum as its an rs turbo its going in a series 1 to be pricise any way wich zetec 16v is best to use for a turbo aplication the usual silver top or the black top cos my mate uses a black top but with twin 45's & he says its allot revier than the silver top also the water pump is differant to the silver top zetec but i was'nt realy listening to him cos he's a bit of a sleeping tablet but thanx in advance

Just because "it's the one that everyone uses".. nothing stopping you using a black top, but you'll have to do a bit of R&D.. different rods and pistons.. oil filter in a different place.. quite a few changes to potentially hinder your project..

From looking at the two blocks, the silver top block has more meat on it than the black top.. potentially stronger..

newer zetec has longer rods (better design) so if you can go whit the newer...

silver is the most tried and tested and it has huge power potential.
i have a 1.8 zetec and decomp plate if you get stuck.
also have 2.0l block

its alrite mate i alreaady have a 2.0l block but its converted for cvh (except pistons & rods) head but most people on here are saying its easyer to just go zetec turbo insted of zvh
