Could anyone tell me the pro's and con's of replacing the amal valve with a bleed valve?
I'm of the opinion that removing the amal valve removes the boost limiter / cut off safety feature and is therefore not a good idea?
Thanks for any replys...

Bleed valve are very bad and are not a good idea just book it in for a rolling road and to have the boost push up if it's not chip then it won't go higher then 10psi most car that are chip can only go to 1bar (15psi) if you know what you doing you can get it over 20psi
There is nothing wrong with using a bleed valve, it's a valuable tuning tool, and provides easy adjustability of boost without the risk of wastegate creep.
It is true that not using the amal valve removes the boost cut. Howver, this kicks in rarely, eg Limp Home mode, very hight temps etc. Providing u keep an eye on ur gauges etc, u'll feel the car the car not driving right before any serious damage is done. Limiting the boost wont always help the problem anyway.
To run 20psi, u simply have to have the available fuel, and have the rest of the engine components able to take the increased compression pressure and heat. With beige injectors, ur not going to have the fuel for much more than 20, especially if the engine is modded with cams and heads etc.

cheers for the replies guys.
i've just brought a used amal valve off of flea-bay and it's working just fine!
well a bit too fine actually, boosting to 18psi!, when previously it was only holding 12. the fueling's not been set up for that yet so guess i better get the spanners out and adjust the actuator a bit!
