Why!?

And why would anyone want to risk injuring themselves doing as many press-ups as possible without a warm-up first?

About 50 in one go from cold - limiting factor is my wrists hurting - 28y/o, 14st 7lb, 6 foot and gym 3 times a week.

I do Circuit Training once a week

I'm just under 13 stone and 6 foot, age 26

i can do 40 from cold with no breaks......but during an hours class probably do a hundred or so with the same amount of situps, crunches, squats blah blah blah

I was crap when I started tho! Took about 4 weeks to get into it and keep up with the rest.....just old injuries that stop me doing it more often

Ryan...like your salary you once said you had..BOLLOCKS

Ian.....i do em from cold..well i shake my arms about a bit first!

Interested to know....i can do 30 outright and weigh 14.5 stone 5ft 11

Apparently if you can do 40 plus outright you are very strong!

Weak is under 24...normal is 25 to 40

I come out of retirement re training recently and do 40 pressups a day along with 400 sit ups via that ab bar thing that dont fuck the back ...plus use a cross trainer.........

LMAO well your arms actually don't have a great deal to do with it it's more chest/shoulders......unless you're doing "Ryan style press-ups" If you're actually doing the press-ups until failure then you risk injury by not warming up first.

Apparently if you can do 40 plus outright you are very strong!
That is a rather misleading thing to say as there are 2 types of muscle fiber IIRC(power & endurance respectively). So if you have alot of Type 1 & not many of the Type 2 (ie. by genetics) then you will never be able to do a huge number of press-ups/whatever in comparison to someone who has loads of Type 2 & not many Type 1.

along with 400 sit ups via that ab bar thing that dont fuck the back
What a gimmicky pile of shit they are

Didn't realise you had back problems mate, actually wasn't aware that it allowed people with existing back problems to do sit ups. When I tried one it felt like I was doing fuck all with my abs. In general people without back problems should just do crunches, you won't get back problems if you do 'em properly

Ian...what i meant was if i did sit ups it would cause severe lower back pains...maybe i have a dodgy back?...BUT this thing is so good you can feel just the abs working, your lower back doesnt move!

Crunches for working abdominals, situps to work hip flexor muscle groups.
