What pressups though???
Elbows out are easy enough, but try the elbows in (RM) style ones, ie, hands directly beneath your shoulders.....elbows touching the side of your body whilst you do it, and ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR, none of this 2foot off the ground lark. Lock the elbows out when you go up.
See how many you can do then

Phil,
I have a bad lower back and my physiotherapist gave me a leg raise excercise to do to work the abs and quads without back pain...
It involves raisng both legs 5" from the ground and then crunching the legs only whilst keeping the back flat...
Seems to work cos it fooking hurts...

I challenge you all to a deadlift contest .
I'll start with my 250kg for a double
Just in the interests of science I did 50 before my chest started to cramp up, but it was chest day yesterday so thats my excuse.
I weigh 16st @ 5' 8'' and 28yrs and have been bodybuilding/training for the last 10 yrs.
As Karl has proved you'd be suprised at the human body and how strong some people are without a huge amount of training. There are people at the gym who are far lighter who can out bench me!

as paul has said, muscle isnt everything.
oh to wave your doubt a little bit Phil
i used to be a national gymanast (yeah i know) and if i did 80-100 and every evening my coach would have given me a kicking.
can still do a few tricks, even though i gave up years ago.

I am pretty shit at press ups,
Can do 30 in a oner, thats arms about shoulder width apart, on clenchesd fists on front two knuckles only. Nice and slow down and RIGHT to the ground.
At number 30 I die... could only do 20 in a go two weeks ago.. getting there
do alot of gym work just not much that helps with press ups i seems!
6ft and 27
