Zetec is the better way! It's much work to build a ZVH and it the parts needed for the bottom end can also be used for the Zetec. And it benefits from its 16V. EFI won't work unless you use RST EFI. The only problem on the 16V is to get an exhaust manifold. Just put enough money in, buy a Weber Alpha or something else and have much fun with a 16V

cvh or zetec. Zetec gets the vote for me, more potential.

Out of the two i'd say go Zetec...but of course it's down to budget. Stick with CVH imo!

No. It's toss. And so is a ZVH. And a zetec is MEGA dear to do proper. Cossie managed CVH with steel rods will see u sail past 300.

IMO ZVH is a half job

will be biased here and say zetec turbo out the two................

but as above, a good well built 1.6cvh with good management will give good performance

go full zetec to get a zvh to produce the goods takes alot of money better off going zt far easier and probably cheaper and this is from someone who has spent loads on a zvh.

As the old saying goes "there is no replacement for displacement".

Why go for 1600cc when you can have 25% more capacity??

If you want a good example of what you can do with a stock zetec and a gt28rs check out this link.

http://www.westfield-turbo.co.uk/specification.htm

No expensive steel internals here and a power sheet from the same chassis dyno!

PS I can supply decent ZT inlet manifolds, fuel rails and if you are on a budget - MLS decomp plates..... but i probably shouldn't be saying that on here.

can i but in here for a sec........cheers

I was considering the same thing but i dont want to fuck around with the originality of my S1 so i was thinking of ZT bottom end so i could keep the CVH layout, that way i can take it to 2.0 without an overbore. either that or PE 1.9 convo

Any thoughts guys?

Why not each to there own i guess.

if i was going bigger capacity the only route for me would be a duratec.
Which i have looked at .

I was thinking of using the zetec (from my mondeo)but been told that you really need an rs2000 box and new driveshafts to make the most of it??? so im staying 1600 and going to get cossie managment. Also its just slot straight in and no worries about anything else. it also says 1.6 on the block and thats rather useful to me for insurance reasons

Tim

What was the score with the duratec? pro's and cons way of course?

Ive got a cracking 1600 cvh in there just now which is getting a map session on saturday and im hoping a can crack past the 230 mark with a few tweeks, then once the wee body bits are sorted (which aint much btw) i want to get some more power and as i said above a fancied the zt caper but dont want to stray from the cvh since its an S1.

Stage 3 head will be next but getting above the 230 which i should currently have is there any recomendations?

stuart collins

Top spec mate
