Default What should I expect?

I will be going to stage 3 this weekend, after fitting new head gasket etc. Initially will set it to run at 17/18 psi, until I can get it on the rolling road to check the fuelling.

What should I expect, I run stage 1 at the mo and have driven standard cossies but never anything with stage 3. Will it be like a different car or just a bit faster.

Default stg1 vs stg3

once it has been set up it can only be described as a 4 wheeled R1 m/cycle

keep your eye on the rev counter as you will not believe how quick it hits the red-line!!!!

have fun!!!!

I must admit guys while it would be fast or I hope so, but I also ride bikes and I have ridden an R1 and couldnt get the front wheel down until nearly 100mph. I have only just got the car but I believe it is a standard turbo, the only clue I have is the A/R ratio stamped on it is 42? I have just fitted a 4x4 cooler as I was told this would help

Default yes , i owned an r1

yes i owned an r1 and to be honest, the cossie is a lot more fun at stge 3 than the r1 ever was at std , everytime i went out on the bike it cost me a bloody fortune , this missus hated it, my boy couldn't come out with me and my cossie feels like itaccelerates harder from 100mph upwards
I ragged the arse out of the r1 and managed 168mph on a section of road near me! i ragged the cossie and got 160 on the same section(yes a whole 8mph faster), i went up against my mates R6 the other night through the twisties and when we had finished he was shocked at how quick the car was!!

so it may not be knee down and looking like a twat in (i wish i was max biaggi) luminous leathers

but it is in my opinion equivalent fun

I have owned numerous bikes i.e x7's ,(i raced 250's proddy),350lc's, zx9r, a wanker of a blade which i chucked up the road, the r1, i even owned a kh500triple (if any one remembers what they were)

so yeah i pretty much know what an r1 goes like, and my cossie is stge 3ish

what would you lot compare it too then?????????????

Then you ride like a poof

My stg 3 cossie is great fun but no where near as fast or as much fun as my R1 was

the stage3 cossie is barely comparable to an R6 , the R1 would kill a cossie at stage3 spec

Default like a poof

or could it be you drive like one

ok so the r1 is quicker in a straight line but the law of physics say you cannot corner as hard and any twat can go fast in a straight line!!!

the fast time i went out in a cossie it was a ggr 300 hp car and i got home and went out and bought a cossie as quick as i could and i still have it as its a blast!!

When i bought the r1 ithought it was better than the blade but not as nice as my mates ducati !!!

each to there own i suppose

Nah, not a clue mate

Only worked as a bike mechanic for the last 4 years

Great corner speed, very stable but a bit slow steering for me and I just don't like twins

Back to the Q.

I have just upgrade from stage 1 to stage 3
from around 260bhp to 319bhp running 22psi

You will love it loads more power pulls me back into the seat now

It`s feels a big diffrence from stage 1

Plus loads more fun in the wet mines 4x4 though sideways could not do it that good before on stage 1 but now it`s great fun

But now i got the taste of power i want more now

yea, this got a bit

Personally I'd say the biggest difference between stage 1 and 3 is the nice big wedge of torque you get

On the motorway I can fend of my mates stage 1 cars using 4th while they are caining it in 3rd

Just noticed you are from Bristol as well.

You been to the Bristol RSOC yet?

Is yer car 2wd? If so you bet it will!

Makes hanging the ass out so much easier as well with the extra toqure, much more steerable on the throttle

Here's the Bristol RSOC web address www.rsocbristol.co.uk

I replaced the rad at the same time so I just dropped it all out the bottom then put the cooler in and the rad after, then had to measure up the pipes and cut them down a bit because the 4x4 cooler is deeper, and found out after fitting that I had nowhere to fit the dump valve coz the 4x4 doesnt have the outlet on the intercooler for the dump valve so I am running without one until I get some new boost pipes with the fitting on

not standard, but the aftermarket boost pipes I have seen have a fitting in the pipe between the cooler and the throttle body
