Default audi tt 3.2

Missus wants one... is the 3.2 worth the premium over a 225??

A chipped 225 is MUCH better in my opinion dreiven both

The 3,2 has stunning gearbox which is awesome

As a few otehr extra bits too

but if it was my money i would buy a 225 with Bose and Xenon pack

Or if i was buying it for the missus i would get the 180 version even chepaer still get Bose and Xenons though if possible

The only issues they seem to have are the DIS (driver info system) sometimes goes mad adn zeros everything

MIne was great the most uninvolving drive but went well and handeld VERY well

ive driven both the 1.8t 225 bhp and the 3.2 v6 with dsg gearbox and my honest opinion is that the 1.8t 225bhp is a better drive seems a lot quicker and you arre more involved driver wise

Im told the trouble with the 3.2 is the engine produces more power but weighs alot more so nearl cancels out the extra power, so that its better to get a 1.8T 225bhp as the engine is lighter and then chip it to make the power about the same as a 3.2

A 180 won't be quick enough for her... when I had my golf anniverary tdi she made me get it remapped to 190 bhp with 300 lbs of torque!

180's Can produce 225bhp im told with a remap.

Watch out though they have lots a and lots of problems

Mum had one and part x it for an e46 318ci

Problems she had on a 1999 225 with less than 50k on it.

Turbo went
Electric window motors went (Both)
Dash went awol
Rear suspension arm sheared
Bose Headunit - it would turn on but no buttons on the headunit did nothing.
Lots of traction control errors
ABS system
Glovebox catch snapped (audi wanted nerley £200 for a new one)

It cost her a fortune.... and since we have heard of quite a few people having problems with them...

Personally I thought it was pretty boring to drive...

JD Power Survey:-

Audi TT
Disappointing reliability drags down the TT’s otherwise impressive score. Too many owners complain of engine problems, misbehaving switchgear and loose trim. Running this stylish coupe will set you back quite a few pounds, too, although at least its insurance bills are reasonable. In other respects owners love their TTs. The survey’s respondents praise the car’s performance and ride and handling, and approval for the Audi’s sleek appearance is almost off the scale

fook me, my mate has a 225 tt and gives the car so much shit!! its never skipped a beat (the dash did play up but audi replace those on warranty) his car is at 80'000miles now and still goes no problem. The standard brakes are shit though if you really use them they are fucked in no time! Porsche 4pots do go straight on though........
