Default Dog Poo vs horse Poo discussion

I see signs everywhere saying clear up your dogs 2nd hand dinner or be fined £100 etc,
But how the hell can a horse leave a Mount Everest in the middle of the road and get away with it,
If its £100 for a little doggy poo, should be £5k for a mountainous horse crap.

Just a thought

True, at least horse shit is virtually untoxic, consisting mainly of hay and straw.

scoop it up and stick it on your rose bush

the horse shit not the dog shit

it proppa pisses me off tho, when i was living with mum and dad, the tosser down the road owned some stabes up the road from the house and hois field was at the bottom of the road.

now, near on every fooking day while he was leading the horses from the top to the bottom of the road, they fucking things would 9 times out of 10 shit outside our front gate.

the old man didnt mind as he sometimes scooped it up and used it

but pissed i off a treat.

which in turn made sure i sat out side his house at 1am every night on the way home from work and revved the engine on the scootay (had an exceptionly loud exhaust )

anyway, the horses still shit in the road, but seem to get a bit further than the house, only since i moved out mind

fecking horses

horse shit don't seem nowhere near as dirty as dog shit
if i got dog shit on me i would feel sick for weeks
if i got horse shit on me i would just wash it off and forget about it

what about a certain member on here who climbs over peoples fences and coils one down on peoples patios while they are just through the patio doors watching tv inside ...now that is dirty

I remember living opposit this guy with a great dane. That thing was as big as a fookin horse!

Daft old codger used to take it out into the street, have it shit on the path, then open up the grate at the side of the road and shovel it into there.

Absolutely fookin reeked and if I'd not been a 10 year old kid I'd have had a word and reported the fool!

I agree I've just come back from a cycle ride at lunch time and I encountered both types of the afore mentioned shit.

, they should make horse riders put some kinda sack under the horses arse to catch the shit, rather than deposit it all over the road / path.

But dog shit smells so foul! At least with horse shit you are unlikely to step / cycle over it as it is physically so huge! Dog shit is more sneaky and can catch u out. Dog shit bothers me more at the end of the day. It's rank and human beings should know better than to let their dogs shit anywhere.

Fuck me - you guys like a moan (as do I)!

TBH what pees me off more than horses shitting in the road (which tbh they can't help, and how the hell would the riders get off the horse and clean it up and then get back on without causing major drama in the middle of a road) is the choice of roads that horse riders use. I know main roads are too busy but then they choose busy small lanes - I just wish that alot of the riders learnt where the local bridle paths are and bloody used them instead of busy roads! The other really, REALLY annoying thing about horse riders is when they ride 2 abreast - read the bloody Highway Code FFS, it says not to do that - not only does it cause danger for the horses it causes drivers to not be able to pass safely!

There are alot more things annoying about horses than shit - and it's nothing to do with the horses themselves usually.

Cheers,

Andy

I don’t find horse shit offensive at all, its doesn’t smell (well hardly) and is completely harmless unlike dog shit which can have all sorts of disease present.

WTF are you all on??

How many horses actually wander down your street dumping their mess on your drive?

Apart from the fact that horse manure contains virtually no harmful bacteria whereas dog shit can give you several types of worm and larvae infections as well as countless bacterial diseases...I think the rules make perfect sense!

i have a horse stables down the road

they take kids out everyday for rides

now fair play its a good idea and gives the kids sumthing to do but there is aches of fields round here but then they still decide to go through the housing estate on the roads in a circle

its horrible the mess thats here, we have a road sweeper come round every 2 days to clear it up

the riders should carry shovels and bin bags id say

Actually, horse and cow dung has the same effect on roads as several tanker trucks driving repeatedly over it (which is why on the roads around here where horses ride alot you can see alot of funny shaped holes in the top surface of the road) - something to do with the chemicals in it.

Dog shit is alot worse for you healthwise though.

As for how many horses ride around the roads where I live - alot as I live in East Sussex with alot of livery farms.

In fact, I used to live next door to a livery farm for nearly 19 years!

I do like horses alot though, even though I don't ride them (my sisters own and compete riding them).

you should change that to "who climbed over a persons fence" as i believe that certain member does not make a habit of it and was only doing it in retaliation for said neighbours cats shitting on his lawn. now that is dirty.

the owners of cats have no control over the little fuckers and don't come around and scoop the poop that they do. that is worse imo as they'll do it anywhere.

Yep - I wonder if those asking for horse riders to collect the crap will be willing to put a collecting can on the end of their exhaust to stop any gases from getting into the atmosphere!

Speaking as a motorcyclist I think it is completely unacceptable.

Farmers are fined for speading mud all over the road but a huge pile of shit is deemed to be OK.

Another reason why horses, beautiful creatures that they are, should not be allowed on public highways any more imo.

Admittedly, dog shit can be sneaky fuckers, jumping out to get under you size 9's so you have to do a quick shimmy in mid stride,
But pounding the roads at 50/60/70 and mount everest appears doing a shimmy then is a hell of alot more dangerous.

you'd have a different opinion if you rode a motorbike, and were presented by a 2ft wide patch of horse turd mid bend, it can and does have very severe consequences then

You can put horse shit in a bag and people will pay you for it.

Strange but there doesn't seem to be a market for bagged up dog shit.

Even though dog shit is toxic and can blind if you get it in your eyes, I don't think i'd be too happy if my il boy fell over in some horse shit

That's the funniest thing I've read all night - i've got this vision now of the cat's owners looking out onto their patio in the morning..........

Not agreed because dogs eat all manner of crap. Whereas horses only eat hay or grass or whatever so their crap isnt anywhere near as bad. I wouldnt be that bothered if i stood in horse crap...
