Can it ?

How does the Level 8 run coil packs ?

Well, speaking with karl he said the SECS one runs wasted spark, so fires on 2 banks rather than single point.

I don't fancy that after what happened to the dolly LOL....

i'm not talking about the SECS one, i'm talking about a much more sophisticated solution that doesn't require a separate driver board

i think wasted spark is ok under most circumstances if not running ALS or NOS, but individual coils on each cylinder is obviously more advanced and will give a longer spark plug life as well as eliminating any HT leads if you use the direct coil on plug type.

Dingy, i dont think its publicly announced yet, but its entirely L8 as nick has already said in this thread.

Its nothing at all to do with SECS, completely seperate thing.

For those who dont know (ie not dingy, but some others reading) the reason mike has mentioned a 'grale is they use the same series of ECU's as a cossie does.

Is it still wasted? I thought COP was availble.

Guess you will have to buy aftermarket management such as Autronic then, unless anyone else has any ideas? My minds a a blank at the moment...

sorry to misinform you steve. i knew that it had been done with coil on plugs, but didn't know that it was still running as a wasted spark configuration

stick with it, and i'm sure it will be done how you want it soon

The wet system allied to wasted spark certainly has its hazzards, but that said, there are thousands of succesfull fast cars in use today with both Nitrous and a wasted spark configuration having absolutely no problems at all.

Stu,
i have one of the first batch of your wasted spark s.e.c.s. board that are prone to high rpm misfires, are they upgradeable to be like revision 2 with the claimed longer dwell at high rpm?
cheers

Yes of course they are mate, as soon as i actually have some. In fact, you can send it over to your pal for testing if you like. Alternatively you can have a refund on teh driver board itself if your having some form of problems that cannot be rectified.

Sorry, didnt realise the report i had here was done by you, i must have missunderstood it.

The only people who have had any missfire issues still not resolved by myself are both in excess of 600BHP. I didnt see that as too poor on a Ford Zetec coil. They have also both been offered an upgrade to the latest revision FOC.

I wouldnt worry too much about teh gas, the chance's of it igniting are similar to those of you getting run over on your way to buy more gas. I have LOTS of cars running WS with gas.
