Not quite sure if this is a good thing ...
A week today the fuel pump relay died, well the solder had split ... since then I have used the same relay after it was all re-soldered.
Since then my S2 seems to be doing very well on petrol (consuming it)
I usually do about 230miles on a full tank before filling up again (I dont let it get empty, it usually gets to around the last 3rd or quarter) which I have done since getting the car ... but at the moment, my S2 has done about 210 miles with over half the tank still full (or is it under half is empty :P)
Could the relay of improved fuel drinking ?

Stand to be corrected but reley does't control fuel, the only way it does is by not working then no fuel lol i would say best man to ask is safe chav his well up on anything electrical. hope that helps
Ummmmmmmmmm.........thats an interesting one
Shouldn't really make any difference whatsoever, the relay simply switches the relay on, it doesnt vary the rate the pump works at, simply on or off?
Seems very coincidental though. I'm game for that though if that is the case because my cabriolet was doing a shocking 50 miles on Ł10 whether u ramped it or didnt boost at all, and my relay nearly set on fire just before i stopped using it lol

And he is 100% correct. The pump and relay is either on when the car is running, or off when the car is not running.
It might be worth getting the fueling checked in case something has failed at the same time.
