Default Problem with Idling... I think it could be Dump Valve?

For the last few weeks I think the car has really been dodgy when idling! Sometimes it will tickover high, sometimes it will want to cut out.

Could a dodgy dump valve cause this?

It sticks all the time and I think is shagged

What dump valve have you got on there?? you need a bailey twin piston dump valve as they are ment to be the best one's to use.

Sorry to interupt but an air leak will make the engine cut out or idle lumpy...........

Ah right i missed the high idle bit. Theres not a lot you can do to make a RST tick over too high, have you checked the throttle cable is all adjusted up right?

The dump valve shouldnt really make it play up if its a twin piston. You would be surprised what can effect the running of an RST........

There are twin piston ones around that don't carry a name badge.

Another thing i thought of? Do you have a vacuum gauge? And can you see the pistons through the holes in the DV?

safechav you spaceboy, read the thread rite,he already said its a top gear one or summit, and not a double baileys (with ice),

just get rid of the dumpy alltogether.

maybe your air leak is brake servo related ,(120quid), mine was,and im letting everyone know.
