Default How much boost shall i give her!!

Just got me S2 back on the road and since i rebuilt it she has lost lots of low and mid range torque.
DIY ported head, inlet and exh manifold (matched ports)
piper 285 T2 cam
vernia pully
S/Steel valves
Grp A felpro gasket
Cosworth forged pistons approx 7.5:1 CR
Rebored to 81.50mm
Lightened and balanced crank, flywheel and clutch cover
hi presure oil pump
DIY boost activated 5th injector @12psi
Holding 20psi
Stage 2 T3 turbo -31
pace double capacity intercooler
lagged turbo / manifold
usuall extras, chip, filter, exhaust, swirl pot etc.

what boost do you think i should run and also being low comp and a laggy cam is it worth putting the std cam back in to regain some low down grunt

cheers for any help

Bri

std rods, before rebuild done a compression test and she was 14bar apart from pot 3 with half a piston lol. After rebuid with me low comp pistons (approx 7.5:1) done a compression test and got 10 bar across the lot. Will this lower in cylinder pressure allow me to run more boost?

yes low compression engines allow u to run more boost mate other wise they r pointless.....

dependin on how gd ur management is set u can run alot of boost...

but too much and ul bend a rod...

aslong as manaegement , be it efi or mfi, is et up well id say u cud run between 20 - 25psi!

but dont hold me to that... others with greater knowledge than me may say otherwise!

also you say that you have a Pace double capacity intercooler!!

i hope you've got an act gauge fitted as that interwarmer is not going to like anything above 16 psi without running very high act's!!

i also take it that you've run the rebuilt engine in for at least 1000 miles, although personally i'd run it in for 1500 miles!!

On that head gasket, you're probably already over it's limit!!!

Boost pressure depends on what your fueling is capable of doing and ignition advance/retard.

The standard Ford one is probably the best out there. The Felpro is a normally aspirated head gasket deisnged for the 1.9 american engine with no turbo on it. They usually blow between 2 cylinders.

ran her in for 1500 miles very low boost then 1500 - 2000 at 16 psi taking her easy ish and she now has 3000 miles on her. I just got her back on the road to sell her but i forgot how much i love the RAWNESS of it compared to me saph and now don't want to let her go
