170 top speed.

I always slag GTSTs off, but changed my mind now, was rapid

Shame his old 11sec ERST wasnt there, wouldve won the FWD class

Thanks for clearing up that mystery, I KNEW I knew who he was, but couldn't think where I knew the name from .

So his Skyline wasn't that much faster than his bean-tin - what a bummer .

 

Faster than any RWD saff on the day too, thats what suprised me as im ALWAYS slagging GTSTs off and saying a RWD cossies a better bet for a modded performance car!

I cant really now Esp as his GTST isnt all that modded, on the engine internals and transmission side of things, its as good as standard if i remember right!

Cant even slag scoobies off either, they did well too

Blimey, he could have beat his Skyline with his old ERST, thought you are supposed to buy quicker cars as you progress with your car buying

 

Not knowing the back ground, did he never prove this 11sec escort then? I'm sure I saw a 12sec Severn valley escort around the mags in the late 80s so 11secs isn't unfeasable (is it? )

this 11 second car was a severn valley car so probably the same thing.

and id say it was unlikely to run consistent 12s.... i dont doubt it did a 11.9 second run.. but i reckon suspect timing gear maybe helped!!

 

AD-RS1600- Hate to tell you this, but 11.5sec is FASTER than 11.9, not slower

Marco- Of course, but my opinions changed in the fact i know the approx mods done and cost of the GTST, so can see what seems a better deal.

In fairness it would have never ran a 11 sec 1/4, but it did beat a Ferrari Testarossa doing a 13+ on road tires some years back.

 

I was at york dragway the day the car did the 11.9 pass, it was doing low to mid 13's then suddenly hit 11.99 did seem very iffy to me,timing prob?? must have been around 1997 I think.

Was aquick car though I have the FastFord feature on it somewhere still. It had 17" Venoms on it and the arse was in the air. G plater I think it was.
