Default Transverse YB

Now then ...

I heard some time ago that this was (basically) do-able with an MTX75, retaining the original-ish front end of the car. Can anyone shed any light? I don't like being wrong, and I'm sure this came off a respected source...

Cheers!

No worries Somebody's just said to me that you have to space-frame the whole front end, which I don't remember being necessary... perfectly happy to admit when I'm wrong lol... I just don't think I am...

dont have to space frame it but drivers side inner wing needs totally redesigned. to fit round the elbow on the water pump etc, also the turbo has to b mounted upside down for clearance at the bulkhead, so i'm assuming you would need a manifold made to allow this.

it would be easier to spave frame it tbh

as look at the engine mounts one would be where the rad is and the other bulkhead

as said turbo goes upside down, then you have the grief of water pipes, boost pipes etc

a lot of work for gains i carnt see why and would just do it normal and weld a floor pan in

there was a mk5 escort that had been done years ago aswell, also the ka with evo running gear

DJM's Ford Ka has a transverse YB, it uses an Evo gearbox.
