Default what current does a fuel pump pull?

just found a switch laying about, its good for 10 amps on 12v dc.

just wondering if this is any good to use with a fuel pump

by the way, just a standard fuel pump from an gte vauxhall nova.

nothing special and not a big spec engine or anything

Cold always use a relay circuit just to be sure

Even a standard pump will probably melt that switch into your dash board, unless the heat build up in the switch causes your pump to slow and melt the engine first...

I'd expect the standard pump to draw about 14 amps.

cheers mate ... so my 70 amp relay is a bit excessive then
I can supply you with a 180A relay so you can run 10 044 pumps if you want?

I can even supply you with a 2500 amp relay but it's huge!!!
