Default Anyone know nething bout vauxhall tigras??

i know this is a ford site and i am a ford man, but i friend of mine wants a 2.0i 8v lump put in her tigra to replace the 1.4 lump in it, swaping the engines is not the proplem, its the wiring, i haven't really looked into it yet, just wondered if any knew if this is going to be a arse or easy as pie, before i start ripping out the old lump,
Guessing i would say the looms wud be pretty much the same!!
I wish i wasn't drunk when i said "i'll do it"

Cheers
Pez!!

Putting a 2.0L 8v in a tigra is not that simple its a big block engine and the 1.4 is a small block, so its basically the same amount of work as putting a valver in a corsa/nova custom mounts etc

Yup its exactly the same work to put the 8v in as it is the 16v xe motor, i can put u in touch with somebody who makes the mounts etc and can supply a disk detailing the conversion/wiring up if you would like.

that was there, because when you slam the boot the vacume created by the large glass window use to blow the windows out on the very early cars, vaux put it in there to let the pressure out

as has been said, not alot of point putting the 8v in, as there down on power compared to the xe, very good engines though, butt gettign on abit like the xe

is easy enough to put in, but the engine has to sit about 30mm lower than the corsa/nova conversions because of the low bonnet/wing compared to the corsa etc

apart form that pretty simpel to do, LMF vauxhall sell the M_tech conversion kits, or theres quite a few people that make them, will need the shafts and a few other bits, only other thing your need for the xe is a inlet of some description, as the SFI box needs cutting and shutting to fit, most popular way is using the V _tuning inlet plate, which doest require anymodding to fit

considerd putting the 1.6 16v X16XE i it, much easier as its a direct swap, and with the adition of a manifold and inlet such as a Lexmaul or a Manztel your be around the 130bhp mark of the 2.0 8v
