mk4 fiesta - a few questions and pic request
awrite folks, registered here a while back but dont come on much due to me being a vauxhall guy. But, now ive just bought my burds old fiesta to get to work, and ive got the bug already
. basically i want to mod it slightly but nothing OTT. just some wheels, suspension and brakes so a couple questions if i may
1. start with wheels - seens ome of these 4 spoke wheels that you get on the mk4 and 5 and was thinkin about a set of them. what size are they?
2. brakes - the brakes are really shit on the car TBH, it even has solid discs on front
. so i am wondering about what options i have. would decent same sized discs and decent pads be worth it or am i better to upgrade to a larger disc/caliper combo from another model? if so what models will fit keeping in mind they need to go behind either they 4 spoke wheels or at themost a 15" wheel.
3. suspension - dont want to go mad here, just looking for a decent stance and a bit less body roll. what spring kits are the best and are there any decent priced full kits out there - again bearing in mind wheel/tyre choice as i dont want to be modding arches.
finally has anyone got any pics of their mk4/5s to give me some ideas about what i can do to spruce it up a bit.

The standard 4 spokes are 14's a good size to go up to is 15's without any problems with the tyres rubbing the arches
The brakes up can get drilled and grooved discs and a set of greenstuff pads which will help (i have this set for sale if you want) or you could go up to cossie calipers and discs for the best set-up at a good price
Suspension i ran pi -40mm lowering springs for a while which i thought were great as the it lowered the car and made the ride abit harder but not so much that i rattled your teeth out

aw naw dont tell me it takes other engines easily aswell, i always get fed up and start engine swops when theres no need on a car to get to work in
. TBH im more into powerful cars than styling but im gony do my best just to leave the engine well alone in this thing - even though its only a 1.25, lol.
so cossie calipers and discs will bolt right on then? what size are they? and i take it i'll need 15s to get them on?
your car looks good, even though im not into body kits etc, i like the subtle approach more TBH
but each to their own. it suits the wheels.

Im more into powerfull cars rather than bodykits but i wanted it to look abit better than standard, i'd rather a car that looked good so you dont have to do anything to the outside i.e escort cossie in my eyes
As far as i know they will bolt on the only work you my have to do is drill the hub holes that hold the caliper to take the bigger bolts for the caliper carrier, i think 2wd cossie front discs are 280mm so you will need to go up to 15's

The escort cossie capilers and discs bolt on with only drilling the hole that holds the mounting bracket for the capiler from 10mm to 12mm and thats it.
The discs used are the cossie escort ones and there 278mm if you need ebc part number give us a shout as I got the discs in my room waiting to put them on.
Bare in mind there only single pot capilers M.D on here as got a way of fitting the 2wd Cossie 4pots on.

TBH the single pot calipers would do the job fine, if they are good enough for a cossie, they are gony be more than ample for a 1.25 fiesta
so its just the fiesta mount bracket that needs a 12mm through hole drilled into where the 10mm ones exist that the standard caliper bolts go through. easy enough job.

grab a set of these and some half decent 15s and im jamming. whats on offer from the Ford range of wheels to fit? as i say im not lookin to spend a fortune here and at least if i get Ford wheels i'll know they will be the right offset.

ah i see. aint to clued up on the brakes TBH, only did a set of discs n pads on this wee thing for the burd once or trwice and never paid much attention to how its setup. i know there is a carrier. so if its the hubs that need drilled out im assuming the actual carrier has the threaded holes and not the hub itself.
i'll have a look in the for sale section and see whas on offer brakes wise then

On the cossie yes its the carrier that has the thread mate
I took my carrier and the bolt legth to a bolt shop and they got me the right thread for them I think it was 6 pound for the bolts but there harden steel ones which is a advantage.
