The chip is essentially the remapping of the standard ecu, it's rom is used in lieu of the contents of the ecu's rom.

You can have your car set up with a bespoke chip to suit any modifications you've had done by someone like MSD. TBH though, if you are running a standard car then there isn't much to be gained and you'd be OK with a rolling road session to set the boost and adjust the CO.

So far you should be okay but if you do go for a cam and front mount etc then its best to get a mapped chip for your spec from someone like Stud@MSD or Ahmed Bayjoo as a standard 195 chip wont be leashing out the potential from them mods

good luck

any ideas on a price for having it set-up and mapped by MSD.

Thanks for all your help so far.

as sailerbob mentioned with the current mods i wouldnt worry to much about the chip a 195 superchip should be ok though there not the greatest ive heard but if you've got on just get it setup on the rolling road by a decent tuner to make sure its not pinking etc.

But when you do decide to modify it with the cams, front mount etc then its best to ditch that chip and get one mapped to your spec.

Your looking at around Ł220 to get a chip mapped for your spec and the about Ł120 to set it up so about Ł340 not cheap is it and dont quote me on those prices best to give Stu or Ahmed a call

good luck

live maps range from around Ł400-500
well worth it to get the car running properly and to get to its full potential
