Default Can't Stop Getting Road Rage And Starting To Enjoy It

I generally have a pretty short temper with rude people. If I see someone doing something inconsiderate then I want to beat them to death with my bare hands. On the road I am placid, placid like Mother Terressa off her tits on morphene, but as soon as someone does something rude or inconsiderate I blow a fuse and turn into a raving lunatic. Thing is this is starting to get worse and oddly, more enjoyable.

Last night I was taking my GF home and pulled out of my close onto the road which leads off my estate. As I pulled out a blue Megan came belting round the bend. As I had already commited to pulling out and could see him coming up the road I booted it out the junction as not to hold him up. Well then the git goes and drives right up my ring piece and I've already lost my rag. I ease down the speed to more like 15mph to show I am willing to stop and get out if I have to and he backs off. I carry on up to 30 and he's weaving around behind me and sanity tells me to pull into a junction and let him past... which I do.

I then watch him hoon off up the road like a right maniac and I think it's all done with, relax, the 4i is safe.

But noooooo as I drive through town the Megan is stuck in traffic (it's about 12:30am so traffic consists of one car) and I eventually catch up. I drive normally as we approach the local touge and I start to consider I might chase him up it. But the car infront of him plods along and I stay back, in gear ready should he overtake. We make our way up the touge and he then realises it's me behind him and starts to slow down, I then decide at this point the most rational thing I intend to do is beat him to death with my brake lock. 40-30-25-20-15 the speed comes down and my tells me to kill him. I drop it down and boot it round him, easily go past and then I tried to stop him so I could get out and give him a kicking, as slowed down and somehow the crazy foo got past me, not sure how, he must have used the pavement or something, we were out in the middle of nowhere, he swerved back at me as he got past.

But what was wierd is if anything the fire of anger was dampened. I then followed him to the next town as if nothing had happened, we both drove normal, no racing, no tailgating. We got to the next town and I cut through an estate, realising he'd know where I would come out and swtitched my headlights off just in time to see him come the other way, he gave me some main beam but didn't try to ram me off the road or block it or anything.

I then took my GF too my house and felt odd, usually after any road rage I get really het up for the next 12 hours. But this time I was calm as anything, almost tranquil. I then drove home and a rabbit ran out into the road, I could do little but edge across and felt the back wheel hit it. I usually can't hurt a fly and would be traumatised by hitting a rabbit but not this time, I almost got a sick sense of well being from it.

It was almost like a test last night, despite my efforts to avoid a confrontation it seemed like I was left with little choice. I would have either gona home felling angry someone had tailgated me, or held me deliberatly or gone home feeling like I did which was kinda pleased.

Does this mean I am turning into a raving pyschopath hell bent on finding an acceptable reason to kill someone? Or was it just two guys sizing one another up and calling a truce Or does it mean the more you avoid road rage, the more polite you are the more upset you get when the opposite comes back to you. This whole thing follows a recent experience on the M5 where I nearly murdered a BMW driver with the help of a friend who deosn't seem to be able to make any journey without an angry encounter, and those encounters have been even worse.

What's the solution? Stop and calm down, avoid the situation, accept an autmotive bumming from a raod bully or adminster your own vigilante justice?

TBH Chris i think you should take a chill pill especially if your in that car! these witless scum will no doubt take it out on your car given half the chance...

and it don't matter how hard or mental you are theres always someone harder or more mental(with a knife or even gun etc) it just aint worth it!

i'll be honest i get pretty wound up pretty fast but try my hardest to leave it a the w@nker sign, so far i've only once had to actualy getout to some tw@t that on a push'iron that punched my wing on a astra i had.. lets just say he couldn't cycle home when i left

yeh you never know who is in that car!! , dont learn the hard way and calm down.

people do actually get killed as a result of road rage and usually over nothing , just cause you think he has done someting wrong in your opinion , he might think you are in the wrong so just drive away and forget it , it will make you a better driver.

BTW a friend of mine got put in prison for road rage

Yeah that's my main concern, to be honest it's the car that holds me back from going proper mental sometimes. If I had a banger and no-one knew where I lived it would get very Mad Max. I didn't sleep last night, I just lay on my bed with the window open and the light on incase someone came to get revenge.

I just feel there is a responsibilty to adminster punishment for anti-social behaviour, otherwise surely it will get worse. Last night I tried to avoid the confrontation but it seemed the other driver wanted one. I've had a few people tailgate me for no reason and when I've slowed down to a near halt they've got the message and back off.

It's daft, despite knowing full well ignorance is bliss and just chilling out and avoiding roadrage and being so placid 99% of the time there is that 1% and the reaction is getting more intense.

I had some tit in a 3 series beema once, i came up behind him as he was in traffic and i didnt get that close and the c*nt stamped on the brake, and 2 cars behind me almost went into me as i had to jam on the brakes too, then i ease of and have plenty of space, then he does it again ffs, car behind almost hit me again...

so i over took the fukka and slammed em on then he done the dodgest overtake ive seen, around a right hand blind bend...

i had some tools in the car so i flashed him to pull over while waving a torque wrench out the window...

needless to say he didnt, then some one pull out in front him, had plenty of time but he didnt like it and followed the car infront up his arse and then that car turned off into a farm, and he followed...

some people are just c*nts

happens to most people I think, chased some twat for 30 miles once round and round, he eventually drove to a police station and started blasting his horn outside, soft twat. He cut in front of me at a 2 lane into 1 road and I had to move into the entrance to a side street to avoid damage, obviously flashed him and he started gesturing at me, thats it, proper flipped and the red mist came down. Too easy done and looking back it is wrong.
Remember watching a program about it once and it said to imagine you were on foot and someone walked in front of you causing you to slow down, you never get tools out and threaten them or gesture at them you just make whatever adjustments are necassery i.e. slow down or move to the side. In cars in your own little bubble you think your invincible and thats where the problems start.

Ah all the psychos are comming out now

I don'y like it when someone barges infront of me. I see the point of the walking analogy but whoever came up with it is talking bollocks. I'd say cutting someone up on a merger lane would be similar to barging infront of someone in a queue and in my book that asking for a bit of

I do a lot of miles in my van for work purposes and I get all sorts of twats winding me up..... I calmed down over the last couple of years but have recently begun to get wound up by bad driving again and have really had to stop my self from ramming into some people with my van. I also had to stop my self from getting out the van at the lights and putting my boot through some tossers drivers window!

Lol, you need to watch the anger driver thing. There was a story in the paper of the lorry driver that got the red mist over an Aston Martin. He jumped out ready for a get together, Nigel Benn got out of the Aston. Whimper, whimper
