Default Running problems

Hi

I've owned my 90 spec turbo for 3 years & never had any real problems with the engine until today.
I went to start it as normal this morning & it wouldnt start so i towed it down the road & got it running.
Once running every time i tried to rev the car it back fired alot, it would idle ok no problem, it also stopped & started on the key 3 or 4 times no problem.
I then restarted it & let it idle for 10 mins or so to get temp up to normal then went for a little drive, it went ok for about a mile ok then started to back fire again & stopped!!!!
Now i cant get it to restart even by towing it, any idea's people?

Matt

check the plugs are still ok first. then check the plug leads havn't got any condensation in them. if that doesn't work take of the dizzy cap clen up the connections in there. then try it should be ok after that

i had exactly the same symptoms as you've describved above.

would idle and run, but wouldnt drive and would backfire/cut out etc.

turned out my fuel gauge was inacurate and it was just the fuel getting low lol if your fuel is low i'd chuck some in it just to see

if not i'd look at your recently changed pump...... for leaks etc connections come apart etc?

cheers.
