mike our fitter in work has finished my car today. put a new ap clutch in and the spare gearbox which i was told was fine that i got with my car.but after putting it all in we have realised it has no lsd fucking pissed off in a big way i havent driven it yet but what should i expect with no lsd. i have just taken the gearbox we took out to a local gearbox specialist to have that rebuilt now shall i just leave the car on the ramp and not bother driving it or what??

 

Its drivable your just be spinning up loads..If you dont need the car for awhile id leave it till ya get the rebuilt one back

 

Providing ya not goning hammering it ul be fine 4 a while. LSD is to stop the spinning or try to "limit" spinning. You can put more strain on joints etc but it wont nes brake sumthing jsut by driving it.

For example some people put diesel gearboxs in and there no lsd in them. If you got the time and money then put a new box in with lsd. Wouldt overly panik about it tho.

 

Wait for your LSD box mate. My FRST has no LSD nad 200bhp and no doubt less torque than your 2.1 and it's a pain in the arse for spinning up a wheel. An LSD box is on the shopping list for it

 

yeah agreed, the box that i took out i have taken to a local gearbox specialist for a rebuild and that has an uprated lsd in it all ready it was just making some strange noises thats why we put the other in with the new ap 4 paddle should be ready by wednesday they recon
