Default myprotein impact whey isolate... watery?

I've recently bought some of the impact whey isolate from myprotein after reading good things about it on here, but after mixing it up and drinking it, it seems to be really watery compared to other protein powders i've used in the past, even though the instructions say to add half as much water/milk than the other products.

Just wondering what other peoples thoughts are on this?

Aswell as being thinner it's also not as sweet as other ones i've had in the past, eg Chemical Nutrition Pro-MR and Pro-Mass, Extreme Nutrition Extreme Protein etc, is the thickness of these other supplements due to extra additives such as sugars etc?

I'm using this stuff at the moment(mint choc) and i don't find it any thinner than maximuscle promax i've used in the past.

I use it in a shaker with 1 scoop (35g i think) with 250-300ml of water and 2 ice cubes and just wolf it down.

I have also used USN Weight gainer which was like a stupidly thick yougat to drink! Not nice at all

Thats absolutely bang on the button m8

Add more scoops if you prefer it thicker or less water or use semi-skimmed milk

Is this a protein you would reccomend? I will soon be near the end of my protein, so will be looking for another one. I would like somewhere in between cost and quality, if that makes sense.

I mix 2 scoops (50g) of the impact whey isolate in a shaker with 150-200ml of water and its not too bad then, but if its mixed as the packet says its really watery and awful to drink!

The [b]impact whey isolate from myprotein was recommended by numerous people on here when i was having a read through old threads recently, here's a link to it

http://www.myprotein.co.uk/bulk-powders/protein-powders/impact-whey-isolate/

if you use this discount code MP158540 and get 5% off your first order

[b]Keiron suggested Holland And Barrett for protein powder saying they have it on special offer at half price... Godzilla responded to this to say that worked very well for him when he used it, but there were also a lot of H&B haters on that thread

Thought this might be the case.

I've still not tried the myprotein stuff although I will get round to it. I just couldn't ignore the special offer of the H&B stuff. Does me fine and I stand by everything on that thread that we are being too anal looking so deep into the amino percentages etc.

I will order some myprotein stuff one of these days though.

Just one thought going back to the H&B thread. Sned gave the properties of mixing myprotein per serving and by doubling it you guys are possiblity intaking too much protein in a short time span? If you make them too thick/strong you are possibly shitting out what you body cannot absorb? I may have been misinformed but I was once told/or read that your body can only absorb something like 30 grams of protein per hour??? Its best to drink those stong shakes slowly over time. Its only the same as drinking two weak shakes over the space of a couple or three hours anyhow....

Fair enough Kieron... i've certainly got nothing against the H&B stuff tbh.

Good point about the quantity of powders used in our shakes compared to the amount of protein your body can use in one go, i seem to remember years ago reading/hearing that, think i'll have bit read on that subject.

They recommend no more than 80grams of protein per sitting so that means a meal or shake so its fine doubling dosage up

Would 40 grams and then 40 grams 2 - 3 hours later not be better? More spaced out. Thank's for the link too, Red. Once my 4.5kg tub of what I have now runs out, I'll order some. What flavour you lot reccomend? I have my Banana at the mo' and fancy strawberry but I think I might find it sickly?

I can't afford that much... Not to mention I reckon I'd wouldn't make the toilet before it took it's effect. Can you confirm if it's true that raw eggs don't work, and we have 'Rocky' to thank for that bad idea? It's what I read which didn't seem right.

I know plenty people who buy 5lt jugs of pre-split egg yolks so you only get the whites in it and add a few hundred ml to a shake

I wouldnt say it dont work but ide rather cook them in some way than eat them raw

I tried it once and was about to throw it up when the clump of yellow came, and I did throw it up. Spat it all over the kitchen.

Benni, for 5kgs yes mate, very. A normal size tub that you'd get is 1Kg (or sometimes 900g) and cost between Ł15-30 depending on the brand and where you buy it from.
