Default Advice wanted

Can anybody help me..i am 36 and 5'7" tall and weigh approx 15 stone.I have a 'belly' but it isn't through drinking as i am teetotal.I like to eat chicken,pasta,rice,tuna,salmon,fruit and activia yogurts(1 every day).I am physically quite fit but I have been advised by my doctor to lose some weight as i have high cholestrol levels at 8.2 and he is concerned about them and i have been put on simvastatin tablets to control it.
The question i am asking is..i dont want to lose to much weight as i am quite stocky with broad shoulders(46-48" chest) and i would like the way i looked even more if i was toned up a bit and i was wondering if there was anybody out there who could give me some advice about improving my fitness levels more and possibly i am looking to bulk up to retain the stocky build but get rid of the belly and improve my cholestrol levels...can anybody recommend a diet and/or gym routine etc..i could manage a routine based around 3 workouts a week..MON,WED,FRI etc..any advice is greatly appreciated.

mate my parents have just brought that new wii console it seems to be doing alright plus you can have fun with ya kids if ya have them good luck with it tho mate

You aren't the first person to recommend a wii fit board..yes i have kids and they have a wii.

bit of a contradiction there mate,ur lookin to lose weight then u say ur lookin to bulk up

if ur lookin to lose ur belly then cardio is the way,ur diet looks to be ok,maybe cut the carbs dwn a little while uppin the protien intake and doin cardio will retain ur muscle and lose the belly,i cant see the wii shifting much weight tbh,maybe make u slightly fitter but its not a miracle worker

I can see where you are coming from..i did write this in the early hours afterall..that is exactly what i am trying to do..lose the belly,but i want to retain the stocky look..thanks for the advice mate..very much appreciated..
